How To Survive A Violent Home Invasion

In a previous article we discussed how to harden your home against a home invasion and how to prepare for a home invasion.

Here, we want to cover the actual methodology of surviving a home invasion, and steps you can take to survive — and win — such a violent encounter.

 Remember: You do not have to kill or injure an attacker, or win the gunfight, or even round-house kick the bad guy. You just have to survive.

Have Gun, Don’t Have To Travel

The best gun for surviving a home invasion is the one you can reach. The snub-nose J frame you can carry on your hip is better than the AR under the bed if someone is kicking in your door.

That being said, the faster you can get to that AR, the better. Home invasions move rapidly and violently, and a good rifle can solve the problem faster and more efficiently than a handgun.

1 Million Gun Owners Thumb Noses, Violate N.Y. Gun Registration Law

One of the nation’s most ambitious gun registration schemes is a total failure, according to new statistics.

It is estimated that less than five percent of what gun control groups call “assault weapons” have been registered in New York state, more than two years after Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a law mandating it.

All total, 44,485 firearms by 23,847 people have been registered with the state police, The Albany Times Union reported.

The numbers were only released after attorney Paloma Capanna sued the state under the Freedom of Information Law.

State attorneys tried to block the release by claiming a database of firearms information was exempt from that law.

Even though 23,847 may sound like a lot, it is estimated that 1 million people in the state own such a firearm. That equates to a 2 percent registration rate.

Armed Man Saves 1000 People (Video)

In 1993 a missionary named Charl van Wyk thwarted a massacre with no more than 5 bullets and defeated the terrorist attack from 4 men armed with AK-47s, grenades & Molotov cocktails.

In just 30 seconds, the terrorists were able to kill 11 people and wound 58. Some were gravely wounded with injuries that would forever alter their life.

But the terrorists had planned to kill everyone in the church and were equipped to do so.

Report: FBI In Cahoots With VA To Prevent Veterans From Getting Guns 

A new report shows the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) colluding with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to prevent veterans from exercising their Second Amendment rights to bear arms using not only medical information, but banking methods too.

The memo from February 2012, first obtained by The Daily Caller, is entitled “MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS AND THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION REGARDING THE NATIONAL INSTANT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK SYSTEM.”

The document states that the VA must provide health-related information of veterans to the bureau:

VA will provide an encrypted compact disc exchanged via mail to the FBI no less than quarterly for, inter alia, inclusion in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

Woman Shoots Husband In Self-Defense, Is Shot By Officers 

When a man with a history of domestic violence showed up at his estranged wife’s home in Huntsville, Alabama, Sunday evening armed with a gun, she grabbed her own firearm to protect herself, but was subsequently shot by responding officers who arrived at the home to find her holding the weapon.

Lisa Skinner, 52, had been staying at her mother’s home and had an active order of protection against Bradley Skinner, 59, which she said filed because she feared she would become the victim of a murder/suicide. But the protective order did not keep her estranged husband away, who was armed with a pistol and a large knife when he broke out the glass to the back door to gain entry into the home around 6 p.m., AL.com reported.
