Cops Mistake Disabled Man’s Symptoms for Mental Illness and Arrest Him

In May of 2014, 37-year-old Virginia resident Gordon Goines, was having trouble with his television reception.

After calling the cable company, a technician determined that his cable was probably being stolen by a neighbor, and suggested that he talk to the police. Goines then walked over to the Waynesboro Police Department, and informed the police of the possible theft.

He was followed home by two officers, who noticed that his speech was slurred and that his gait was unsteady, and figured that he must be mentally ill.

He was cuffed and taken to a medical center, where an employee also determined that he was mentally ill.

 He was then locked up in a mental facility for five days against his will, and was not allowed to contact his family or friends.

The only problem, is that Gordon Goines isn’t mentally ill. He suffers from cerebellar ataxia, a neurological disease similar to Lou Gehrigs which caused the aforementioned symptoms.

How To Get A Bad Cop Fired

While police brutality may seem overwhelming at times, it is important to remember that brutal police are the few and those of us who want peace are the many.

It is also important to remember that police work for the many.

It seems that society has lost the notion of public servants and instead has resorted to a paradigm of public subservience.

This is a particularly worrisome state of “civilization” and it’s indicative of tyranny.

But you don’t have to accept it.

Cop ‘Roid Rage: Are Steroids Behind The Worst Police Abuses?

As random testing falls out of favor, some wonder if steroids are causing cop craziness.

In 2004, the growing menace of steroid abuse by American police officers prompted the federal Drug Enforcement Administration to warn of the “possible psychological disturbances” of juiced-up cops.

The DEA said symptoms included:

Mood swings (including manic-like symptoms leading to violence)

Impaired judgment (stemming from feelings of invincibility)

Depression

Nervousness

Extreme irritability

Delusions

Hostility and aggression

Four years later, the influential International Association of Chiefs of Police, with 16,000 members around the globe, approved a resolution that “calls upon state and local law enforcement entities to establish a model policy prohibiting the use of illegally obtained steroids” by officers.

Nearly 1 In 4 People Shot By Police Are Mentally Ill, More Are Just Distraught

Washington Post has decided to take details of officer-involved shootings and compile this year's data to detect patterns.

One pattern that soon became clear: the significant amount of mentally unstable people who are shot on site.

Last year, I wrote about one such instance in "Naked? Acting Weird? On-site Execution by Police." I only wanted to show that strange behavior does not warrant a threat or a reason to kill (especially when considering that there are still less-than-lethal methods available).

It looks like Washington Post agrees for the most part, when it comes a volatile situation possibly made worse by volatile reactions.

Heartbreaking Video Shows Active Duty Soldier Slowly Die As Riot Police Needlessly Assault Him 

 A brutal video obtained by KFOX14, shows the last heartbreaking moments of an active-duty Fort Bliss soldier, 26 year old Sgt.James Brown, as he was being assaulted by the riot squad in the El Paso Country Jail.

The video below clearly depicts the absolute horror Sgt. Brown experienced at the hands of the merciless riot squad.

Warning: The footage obtained by KFOX14 contains graphic content. 

Viewer discretion is advised. Brown served two tours of combat duty in Iraq. The decorated 26-year-old was on active duty at Fort Bliss in July 2012, when he left his family for the weekend to self-report for a two day DWI sentence at the El Paso County Jail.

When he checked in, jail records show that Brown reported in writing to the jail that he was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress.

Conflicting Reports: Baltimore Police Shoot A Protester In The Back, Tensions Rise 

The video above shows the aftermath of what witnesses on the scene are reporting as an officer shooting a man in the back.

 Carlos Miller, of PhotographyIsNotACrime.com, broke the story saying:

Baltimore police shot a man in the back before pepper spraying a crowd of witnesses, who began complaining that police were leaving the man to die.

 The incident took place at 2:45 p.m., less than 30 minutes ago as of this writing, so details are sketchy, but a video recorded by PINAC correspondent Alex Salazar, who is on the scene, was uploaded to Facebook showing cops chasing people away as several people say they just shot a man in the back.

Breaking: In A Shocking Move, The Baltimore State’s Attorney Just Acted On The Freddie Gray Case

Acting far faster than legal analysts expected, the Baltimore State’s Attorney has determined that Freddie Gray’s death was a homicide and has slapped the six police officers involved in Gray’s arrest and transport with multiple charges, including manslaughter and misconduct. The Baltimore Sun reports that one of the officers, Caesar R. Goodson, Jr. — the driver of the van in which Gray apparently suffered a fatal injury — has been charged with second-degree murder.

The New York Times coverage of the prosecutor’s surprise announcement Friday morning noted that the state’s attorney, Marilyn Mosby, “described repeated mistreatment of Mr. Gray. She said that time and again police mistreated Mr. Gray, arresting him with no grounds, violating police procedure by putting him in cuffs and leg cuffs in the van without seat belting him and then repeatedly failing to get him medical attention.”

In Every City In America There Are People Ready To Riot, Loot And Set Things On Fire 

The city of Baltimore has been transformed into an “absolute war zone“, and the governor of Maryland has declared a state of emergency as the rioting in “Charm City” continues to escalate.  The funeral for Freddie Gray has unleashed a firestorm of violence, and none of it is going to do anyone any good.  To their credit, some of the leaders of the African-American community are standing up and loudly condemning the violence.

 They know that smashing cars, throwing rocks at police and looting stores is not going to solve anything.  But just like we saw in Ferguson, there are lots of people out there that are ready to riot, loot and set things on fire at the drop of a hat – all they need is an opportunity.  The social decay that has been eating away at the foundations of our society for generations is now manifesting in some very ugly ways.  We have raised an entire generation of young people in a “value free” environment, and now we are getting to experience some of the consequences of our foolishness.  And what we are witnessing in Baltimore right now is just the start.  Eventually, we are going to see scenes like this all over the nation.
